Reemami Unveils Its 3rd Kulchr Campaign Starring Moroccan Singer ABIR

Reema Al Banna’s kaleidoscopic designs from her latest release, Tin of Olive Oil, is all we need this summer…

Birthed out of the childlike sensibility that is simply toying with fabrics and turning them into palpable magic, Dubai’s Reem Al Banna has remastered what it means to curate purposeful pieces reminiscent of a ‘printed playground.’

Reemami‘s 3rd Kulchr Camapign is a line that wants to aestheticize and vocalize; it serves as the mouthpiece to all-things activism, an ode to individualism and, above all, a sense of identity in a world mish-mashed by its obsession with homogenization.

In fact, the Tin of Olive Oil campaign does everything that a third culture kid could only ask for: a desire to feel belonged.

The project, shot in Reemami‘s newly renovated Sharjah Headquarters where the brand first was first born, looks to saturate and celebrate inclusivity. Having captured the differences of 14 talents, the campaign tinges on the unapologetic desire to amplify memories, nostalgia and all-thing childhood.

“As a third culture kid, I questioned a lot of my existence and tried to find answers,” admits Reema, “Those answers have served as the inspiration to my collection, such as my childhood delicacies, what forms my childhood memories, and what makes me belong.”

In a bid to ‘get-to-know’ those 14 individuals, the brand took to capture a series of fisheye images, stop-motion animation videos and interview-style clips, telling of more than just a mystery name, rather, about their personality.

Cutting the collection’s so-called ribbon was Moroccan talent slash songstress ABIR, sporting a series of outfits meant for more than just the eye. In one post, she’s caught wrapped in the Reemami Vase Dress & Visor. In another, she’s posing in an asymmetrical skirt containing traditional Palestinian embroidery embroidered by Palestinian female refugees.

In a partnership between photographer Zeashan Ashraf, and makeup artists Bisma Hamza and Moona Sultan, the shots are destined for intimacy. However, they bolster confidence, celebrate insecurities, and most importantly, make them feel their absolute best.

“A tin of olive oil collection is a collection so dear to my heart,” Reema reminisces, “It was the first time that I truly dove deeply into my culture and never came out the same.”
