MEET YOUMNA

Youmna Sukkar is a multimedia journalist with an unrelenting desire to tell, share and write people’s stories. She is a Master’s of Science Graduate from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism and now works at CNN’s Dubai bureau.

Youmna is originally Lebanese but grew up in the UK. Being both multi-lingual and bi-cultural has reinforced her need to be susceptible and adaptable, allowing her to find plenty of common ground with those she interviews.

She has experience in print and broadcast newsrooms, covering a breadth of stories at publishing houses like LUX Magazine at Condé Nast in London, Harper’s Bazaar Arabia in Dubai, and The Boston Globe’s ‘The Emancipator’ in Boston. She has also worked in Public Relations and Ad Sales.

Outside the newsroom, Youmna loves a competitive game of tennis, gallery-going, and watching Liverpool Football– never ‘soccer’– Club. She is always on the hunt for a city’s best eats.

Youmna is also conversant in Arabic and French and has a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Boston University’s College of Communication.
